Tennis Club:
In Tennis Club, players can build community through their passion for tennis. Sophomore Mahir Vallabhaneni has enjoyed how members help each other improve and learn together.
“It’s great to see people come together and share knowledge,” Vallabhaneni said. “Players of all skill levels are welcome, whether beginners or tournament-level athletes.”
The club receives funding from the Capital Area Tennis Association, thanks to a $1,000 grant, which all three co-presidents of the club applied for and were accepted. The grant is important because it allows more people to play and experience the life lessons of tennis.
“It’s not just about the game. It’s more about growing together,” Vallabhaneni said. “The Tennis Club is a place where players can enjoy the game and improve their skills.”
Tennis Club is a place for anyone of any skill level to come and grow their love for tennis. There is a meeting each Wednesday morning and Thursday evening at the LASA tennis courts.
Future Business Leaders of America:
In Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) students develop business skills and form connections. Senior Rakesh Ravi, a dedicated member, has enjoyed traveling to national competitions and meeting new people.
“My favorite thing about FBLA is our trips to different parts of the country for our competitions,” Ravi said. “I love the trips because of the new people you meet, the blossoming friendships, and exploring the city.”
FBLA allows members to choose their level of involvement. While Ravi spends extra time preparing for competitions, some members only focus on studying the week before.
“It’s as big of a time commitment as you want,” Ravi said. “ I put a lot of time, especially near competitions, to prepare myself for my event and help others succeed.”
New members are welcome without prior experience, and FBLA offers many business fields to explore. The club is funded through workshops, sponsors, and its large member base. FBLA meets every Wednesday during lunch in room 706.
AI Club:
In the AI Club, students dive into the exciting world of artificial intelligence. For sophomore Anay Sharma, the club’s founder, the best part is exploring AI’s capabilities and imagining what it could achieve in the future.
“AI has so much potential, and it’s fascinating to see where it’s headed,” Sharma said.
Sharma started the club to share his passion for AI and encourage others to push its boundaries. The club meets every few weeks, giving members the freedom to decide how much time they want to commit. Additionally, no prior experience is needed to join.
“A new member can have none to a lot of experience in the field of AI,” Sharma said.
AI Club meets every Thursday during lunch in room 505.
